Natural Resources and Governance (NRG) Programme

The NRG Strategic Area aims at enhancing sustainable utilization of natural resources and improved participation by citizens in governance for improved livelihoods, food security and foster peace building. This is envisaged to in turn increase public awareness for participatory environmental natural resource management policy development, implementation and enforcement.

Objectives

  1. Promote climate-smart technologies that promote sustainable natural resource management as well as resilience to climate change
  2. Empower communities to engage with government agencies towards sustainable utilization of natural resources.
  3. Engage state actors on climate-responsive policy development, implementation and enforcement with participation from non-state actors.
